Amoya Edwards, President
Amoya Edwards is a proud Houstonian living out her PR dreams in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. She is a talented public relations professional whose social media expertise and exceptional writing abilities contribute to her success and ability to produce as an account supervisor at OCG PR. Her love for social media and growing love for the Fort Worth professional community led to her joining Social Media Club of Fort Worth in 2012, and the team hasn’t been able to get rid of her since.
Once a media relations-focused pro, Amoya’s love for the digital side of PR and skills (social media, blogger relations and online content creation) allowed her to switch over to work on one of OCG PR’s largest digital client accounts, where she leads content strategy and writing.
Amoya is a proud graduate of the University of North Texas, where she obtained a degree in public relations and a minor in marketing. When she’s not creating content for her clients at OCG PR or planning events for SMCFW, you can find Amoya with her nose in a fashion magazine or blog or at a local concert – she could talk about music all day if she wanted to. Another fun fact about Amoya? She is also an identical twin!
Elaine Sharpe, Vice President, Interactive Chair
Elaine Sharpe (a.k.a. Lane) is a digital performance marketing pro who never makes a decision without looking at the data first. She’s currently a lead on the SEO team at iProspect.
Before moving back to Fort Worth in 2009, Elaine was a Web producer for the Houston Chronicle and coordinated digital content for the paper’s NFL coverage, as well as a few MLB, NCAA and PGA events. She dabbled in grassroots marketing with Gap and lululemon athletica for three years before joining Texas Wesleyan’s marketing department in 2013.
At Texas Wesleyan, Elaine had a hand in everything from website redesign and CMS training to PPC and email marketing. Her passion for user experience, SEO and creative messaging helped the university engage thousands of prospective students while continuing to build the “Smaller. Smarter.” brand.
Elaine is proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2004 (WHOOP!), but will always be a fan of Fort Worth’s home team, the TCU Horned Frogs. She’s an avid foodie and loves cooking, Sunday brunch and the dearly departed chèvre cheesecake at Magnolia Cheese Company.

Kenitha Ellison, Events Chair
Kenitha Ellison is a Fort Worth native and a communications enthusiast. She grew up taking dance and theater classes and aspires to someday win an Oscar. During a theater internship at an off-Broadway theater in New York City, she was given the opportunity to work with a small PR firm in which she was able to assist with press releases and press kits. She knew then that she needed to pursue this field.
Kenitha has a passion for public relations, social media and editing, and is always looking for opportunities to learn and develop her skills. Her diverse experiences include working as a social media intern with a local makeup artistry company’ and serving as a brand ambassador for Marlboro and Ben E. Keith. She also served as an editorial assistant for TexCorp Business News Group, were she wrote and edited content, managed an events calendar and did research and fact checking while working closely with the editor of MBN Texas and MBN USA magazines. Her gregarious nature also allowed her attended various functions to promote the magazine and meet with potential clients.
Kenitha is a proud Baylor Bear, where she earned her BA in Journalism with a concentration in Theater Arts. Currently, she is completing her master’s in Strategic Public Relations from the George Washington University. When she is not writing a paper or completing an assignment, you can find Kenitha volunteering her time or going to brunch. She also enjoys keeping up with pop culture as she always expects her friends to ask her what’s new and going on in the celebrity world. A couple of fun facts about Kenitha: She LOVES Justin Timberlake and is a ride or die Dallas Cowboys fan. How ‘bout dem Cowboys?
Mendy Sass, Secretary
Mendy Sass is a public relations and social media specialist at Balcom Agency. She crafts brand social media strategies, personalities and content, and assists with digital advertising campaigns. Mendy was previously a media associate at GolinHarris, where she worked for Texas Instruments, Petsmart, NRG Energy and more.
Mendy’s interest in social media stems from her time in a digital journalism program at NBC News in New York. A senior producer required her class to join new social media platforms and post daily. After completing the program and continuing to build her presence online, Mendy began assisting small businesses in establishing a social media presence while she finished college.
Mendy earned her BA in strategic communications from the University of North Texas and is from Pasco, Wash. Outside of the social media realm, she likes working out, trying new restaurants and spending time with her husband and their two dogs.
Lilly Wilson, Sponsorships Chair
Lilly Wilson is an aspiring law student who knows how to make an impact when it counts. She’s a proud Horned Frog who’s learning the ropes of the legal system by day, but when she’s not in a law office, she’s getting involved in projects that allow her to use her expertise to help others.
Lilly served as the social media strategist for the political campaigns of Fort Worth City Councilman Cary Moon and Keller City Councilwoman Debbie Bryan, helping both to get elected in 2015.
Lilly is Fort Worth native, pro-status nanny, runner, future attorney, supporter of the Oxford comma, and terrible swimmer.
